Why Last Cast?

The saying 'last cast' became an ever so common expression when fishing with my husband. I would say 'last cast' or 'one more cast' as my way to try and extend the adventure that I was having.

I have always found piece and enjoyment in my art. For my whole life I have always loved to create art. It was easy to draw what I was passionate about and it felt natural. However I never really shared any of my artwork.

Last Cast Art is my way of opening up and sharing my artwork. Just as I would use the saying 'last cast' to extend my enjoyment with fishing, I now use it as a way to share my artwork with you.

Mediums

I primarily draw with charcoal and focus on items related to my love for the marsh/ocean life here in Charleston SC. There is something about starting with the dark spread of charcoal on paper and slowly adding the light into the image as it comes alive.
